Account manager, Emma Gillespie and myself have made the decision to embark on an 18 month ILM Level 3 Diploma for Managers.
It is ideal for us as we will gain a broad understanding of key management and leadership issues to support growth and performance.
Starting this September, we will spend half a day every other Monday looking at team building and dynamics, identifying and managing personal and professional development and managing and supporting the delivery of a project.
I will be studying at Middlesbrough College and Emma is at Northern Skills Head Office at the Stamp Exchange, Newcastle. I am most looking forward to the project management side of the course as this is an area that really interests me.
At the end of the 18 months we will have an exam and an interview.
It is great to work at a company like Activ where personal development is a top priority and we are able to identify and pursue subject areas that enhance our learning. Working within a progressive environment stimulates all of the team and there is a desire to push forward.
I have formed a very close bond with Emma and to study and work together is great for morale. We can bounce ideas off each other and discuss our learning within an open and supportive environment.
